MATERNAL HEALTH PROJECT

IMPROVE AND UPGRADE MATERNITY BUILDING

The maternal health project was started by influence of Dr. Alfred Bichler who came to Nepal at 2009 as a volunteer for NAPO and worked at the Hospital for 3 months. He immediately initiated and collected a fund for the maternal health project.

The improvement of the building was done at 2008 and 2009 by making isolated rooms, bringing water and electricity, painting the rooms and installing heaters in every room. Solar shower set has been installed for the building to use warm water for cleaning as well as for the patients to take bath after the delivery.

EQUIPMENT SUPPORT AND TRAINING

The most important step was to provide ultrasound at the beginning of the year 2009. The equipment of the maternal building was old, broken and out of working. The equipment like baby warmer, delivery bed, autoclaves, different probes for ultrasound, trollies,  shelfs, blankets, pillows and bed sheets etc. were brought.
